Interview: Special Occasion Cakes

Interviewer: We wanted to talk about birthday cakes. Do you have any current or former birthday cakes that you’d like to share? What’s your favorite cake that resonates with you?

Chef Misuzu: I love creating strawberry shortcakes, including the making process and the taste. I love making them not only because of its process, but also the feeling of creating something special for customers’ birthday celebrations. That’s really a special thing, which I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of their special day. We are here to make cakes that embrace the day. I personally feel very honored to make birthday cakes. I feel really happy about the fact that customers chose us to celebrate their birthdays.

Interviewer: what are the most impressive cakes that you dedicated for birthdays?

Chef Misuzu: I used to make custom cakes about 10 years ago. One day I made the cake for my friends and a nephew. I try to use the colors that customers are asking for even though it takes a long time. We always remind ourselves that we are creating very special cakes. Most of the customers come here to celebrate their occasions, so we offer a happy atmosphere for them.
