Kabocha Cheesecake

Suzuya’s Recommended Menus in Winter Season

Interviewer: Please let us know your recommended sweets menu for the winter season!

Chef Mike: So we’re coming up on Thanksgiving, where we have our Fuji apple pie and Kabocha pies. Those, as well as our Kabocha cheesecakes.

Interviewer: What is your recommendation or special feature of these menus?

Chef Mike: Personally, I always like apple pie. I really like our apple pie. I think that is one of my favorite things to make. Just making the pie dough, making the apples and tea.

Interviewer: When is the expiration date of these menus?

Chef Mike: For Thanksgiving, we’ll be doing pies. The whole pies are only available for the week before Thanksgiving, the 20th to the 23rd, to pick up on those days. We are doing individual-size apple pies. We may continue those a little bit past Thanksgiving, but probably just until the end of the month, depending on the product’s availability and how busy we are for Thanksgiving, and how many orders we get. So if you want to place an order for Thanksgiving, please put it in as soon as possible. Don’t wait until the last minute. We will stop taking orders for that on the 23rd, which is Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Then the other days around that, as they fill up, we may need to stop taking orders or if we hit our limit on the pies. For Christmas, we’re putting together the menu right now. Again, we’ll have a few special Christmas cakes. Usually, we feature our strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake. Special chocolate cake this year. And we’ll be bringing back Mont Blanc for the Christmas season again. We have some nice Christmas decorations. And we’re working with Chef Miyuki to design the holiday theme cakes this year. Those again will be on sale starting December 1 or after Thanksgiving for pick up that week right before Christmas. So keep an eye out for those. I’m sure we’ll have the email for pictures once we get all the decorations and everything done.

Interviewer: Are they limited menus in winter? Do we need to pre-order?

Chef Mike: For those, they are limited again. So for all the Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday items, if you’re looking to order, please put your orders in as soon as possible. For those items, we do need preorders. Sometimes, like Christmas, we’re able to make a few extra cakes, but it’s very, very, extremely limited. So always pre-order, please.

Interviewer: What drinks are good for those menus?

Chef Mike: For drinks, I have been drinking a lot of coffee lately, so I think coffee goes with everything. But for the seasonal menu, our apple spice teas and our apple cider are really good. Nice warm ones. Now, it’s getting cold in Vegas. Here it’s been the 30s and 40s in the morning.

Interviewer: Do you have any other limited menu? Or, any special flavors in winter?
Chef Mike: All our holiday menus are kind of limited and special menus, so just keep an eye out. We usually post things on our Instagram the newsletters, for all the holidays. We will be posting our holiday hours soon for Christmas. I’m doing the voice recording today, so we’ll see how that goes for the answering machine on the phone. So just keep an eye on the hours and days for the pre-orders because it’s going to be different this year than in past years. We’re actually closing a little bit longer for Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
