Chef Misuzu&Mike Suzuya Patisserie & Cafe

Welcome to SUZUYA bakery: A New Chapter Begins in Osaka!

Hello everyone, and welcome to our brand-new blog!

I am absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with you today. On June 19th, we will officially open the doors to SUZUYA bakery right here in Osaka!

This new venture inherits the exact spirit, passion, and vision of SUZUYA pâtisserie&cafe, the shop I built and love in Las Vegas. My goal with this bakery is to blend the dynamic scale of America with the delicate, refined flavors of Japan. By fusing these two worlds, I want to create and share a brand-new bread culture right from Osaka.

My Journey: From the Las Vegas Strip to the Classroom

For those of you whom I am meeting for the first time, my culinary journey truly shaped who I am today. I studied pastry arts at the College of Southern Nevada and went on to hone my craft at some of Las Vegas’s most iconic luxury resorts, including Wynn Las Vegas and ARIA Resort & Casino.

While living in Vegas, I started baking Japanese-style cakes just to treat my friends. Seeing their faces light up gave me a clear mission: “I want to introduce America to the incredible culture of Japanese sweets.” Driven by that dream, Chef Mike and I opened SUZUYA. Thanks to our wonderful community, it has grown into a beloved local staple.

Today, I also have the privilege of teaching the next generation of culinary talent at the Osaka College of Cookery & Confectionery. Whenever my students travel to Las Vegas for their international training, I love welcoming them on the ground. Serving as a bridge between Japan and America allows me to show these young chefs the beauty of challenging the global stage, while reminding them just how valuable Japanese technique and sensibility really are.

From Las Vegas to Osaka

Now, I am bringing that exact same global spirit, passion, and dedication to quality back home with the birth of SUZUYA bakery.

From our signature, pillowy-soft  Shokupan to a variety of unique breads that bridge Eastern and Western traditions, our baking connects Osaka to the world.

Please mark your calendars for our Grand Opening on June 19th! I cannot wait to personally welcome you into our new space and share a piece of my journey with you, one delicious loaf at a time.

Thank you so much for your support, and I see you very soon!
